Yankee Clipper

Showcasing as one of the longest executive courses in The Villages, Yankee Clipper, offers two great par fours. Many would agree the greens, with their interesting and challenging slopes, make this course unique. You won’t find a lot of other obstacles other than on the first hole, a par three, which some would consider the “signature hole.” This hole features a beautiful view over water with surrounding bulkhead and bunkers. A good putter will be the key to a good score on Yankee Clipper.

Walnut Grove

The rolling terrain of this course challenges your depth perception as many of the holes require accuracy off the tee with a long iron or wood. The scenic landscape, and the unique course design, make for a challenging game. Most greens are closely guarded by sand bunkers.

Volusia

Volusia is the 33rd addition to Executive Golf. If you enjoy elevation changes, Volusia is the course for you. Beginning on the first hole with a climb to the top of a hill, once on the second tee you will see views that are seen only at Volusia. Volusia is a par 28 and includes tees for golfers of all abilities.

Turtle Mound

Although an easy course, Turtle Mound is inviting to all level of golfers with one hole having a force carry over water. The relatively short length and generous greens make this course a great venue for the novice golfer. A challenge without being overly difficult.

Truman

If you are looking for a challenge and enjoy playing the Executive Golf, you have found the course to play. A well designed course with holes that any championship course would envy. Truman may seem like a level 1 course initially but will drastically change its personality. Golfers will be treated to a challenging course with one hole that has two greens.

Tarpon Boil

Tarpon Boil is about variety. With multiple tee locations to choose from, this course offers the golfer an opportunity to use all of the clubs in the bag. The first eight holes play as par 3’s and prepare the golfer for the big finish for the par 4 ninth hole. This golf course is beautifully designed, complimented with a variety of landscapes. Naturalized areas filled with native cord grasses are seen throughout the round and come in to play on most of the holes. These naturalized areas promote water conservation and are essentially maintenance free. The “signature hole” is the ninth a perfect way to finish the round with a dog-leg left par 4 that flows nicely along the water’s edge. A good tee shot on the last hole will set you up for a fantastic finish for a birdie!

Sweetgum

Nestled in a natural canopy of live oaks, Sweetgum Executive Course is destined to quickly become a resident favorite. The course meanders around a small prairie providing some challenging golf holes as well as some great natural beauty. Sweetgum is sure to challenge even the better players. Multiple sets of tees with yardage ranging from 892-1,582 allow players to enhance their round with a variety of yardage options.

Southern Star

Southern Star, built in 2011, is right next to the Yankee Clipper course, and shares a symmetrical view of the “signature” first holes. Golfers have a variety of tee options to choose from, ranging from a total of 1,085 yards to 1,682 yards. Two out of the first three holes challenge golfers by requiring tee shots to carry over water. The fourth hole, par four, gives you the opportunity to swing away with your driver to a wide open fairway. As you come down the stretch of the last few holes, be sure to choose the right club, hit the ball on the green, and make the putt!

Silver Lake

Wall-to-wall fairways, no bunkers and only two short carries over water make this a fun course for everyone to play. One of the original courses at The Villages, Silver Lake can be found right in the middle of Orange Blossom Gardens. Continuous improvements make this a great course for the novice, and an ample test for the advanced player.

Sarasota

Sarasota is a course designed for players of all skill levels and abilities with large greens and forgiving approaches. It is tucked along the outside of the Sarasota practice facility, which makes for a great warm up before heading out to the first tee.
